Cirque Alice Brings Its Acrobatic Wonderland to Manila in October 2026

The internationally acclaimed spectacle makes its Philippine premiere at The Theatre at Solaire.
There have been countless journeys down the rabbit hole since Lewis Carroll first introduced readers to Alice and the wonderfully strange world of Wonderland. This October, Manila audiences will get to experience that familiar adventure from a different perspective: through soaring aerial performances, acrobatics, contortion, puppetry, music and theatrical spectacle.
Cirque Alice makes its Manila premiere at The Theatre at Solaire from October 16 to 25, 2026, bringing Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland to life through a contemporary fusion of circus artistry and theatrical storytelling.
Presented by GMG Productions in association with Tim Lawson and Simon Painter, the production reimagines the eccentric characters and fantastical imagery of Carroll’s world as a two-hour live experience designed for audiences of all ages.
A different journey through Wonderland
Audiences can expect mesmerising aerialists and acrobats, contortionists, puppetry, and guest musical and comedic performers, accompanied by newly arranged remixes of classical favourites. The production combines athleticism and theatricality with larger-than-life characters and imaginative set pieces.
Wonderland has always been a place where scale changes without warning, logic is turned upside down and the unexpected becomes perfectly ordinary. Here, those ideas find a physical vocabulary through performers capable of seemingly gravity-defying feats.
For Creative Producer Simon Painter, Carroll’s world provided an ideal starting point for a cirque production.

The production comes from producers Painter and Tim Lawson, whose work together has travelled to hundreds of cities around the world.
Their previous productions include The Illusionists, Circus 1903, Le Noir, The Unbelievables and other large-scale live entertainment productions. Painter also previously served as President and Chief Executive Producer at Cirque du Soleil, where his work included Mad Apple in Las Vegas.
For Cirque Alice, the creative team is led by Creative Directors Ash Jacks McCready and Kirsty Painter, with choreography by Dane Bates, costume design by Angela Aaron, lighting design by Hugo Mercier, and musical arrangements by Martin Raabe-Olsen and Marius Christiansen.
The result promises a version of Wonderland driven as much by movement and visual imagination as by storytelling.
Executive Producer Tim Lawson describes it as an experience that can work equally well as a family outing or a night at the theatre. “Cirque Alice is spectacular entertainment that dazzles audiences of all ages.”
For Manila audiences, that broad appeal may be one of the production's biggest draws. It offers children an entry point into Carroll's fantastical world while giving adults the opportunity to rediscover a story that has remained part of popular culture for generations.
