‘Gabriela: The Musical’ Announces Complete Cast Led by Gab Pangilinan, Myke Salomon and CJ Navato
September 1, 2026

Barefoot Theatre Collaborative has unveiled the complete cast and artistic team of GABRIELA: The Musical, its new original production reimagining the life and legacy of revolutionary heroine Gabriela Silang through a story where, as the production puts it, “revolution begins with love.”
Previously announced to take on the titular role, Gab Pangilinan will lead the company as Gabriela Silang. Joining her at the forefront of the musical are Myke Salomon as Diego Silang and CJ Navato as Miguel Vicos.
The production brings together a sizable company to inhabit the world surrounding Gabriela. Kerr Allen plays Sebastian, with Mikaela Regis as Kunyap/Gimayad, Jasper Jimenez as Tagaben, and Delphine Buencamino as Dawak. Completing the principal lineup are Carlon Matobato as Frayle, Jon Abella as Alcalde, and Jules Dela Paz as Principalia.
The ensemble, representing the dual worlds of Mga Kailian and Mga Itneg, includes Curp Adriano, Joshua Rico Santos, Vincent Sumo, Andre Manguba, Ace Polias, Khalil Tambio, Evan Asuela, Chesko Rodriguez, Ada Tayao, Teetin Villanueva, Mijon Anne Cortez, Denize Castillo, Ronah de la Peña, Lance Reblando, Pappel, and Joie Eborde.
Several members of the company will also serve as understudies and swings throughout the run. Pappel is the Gabriela understudy, while Khalil Tambio understudies Diego, Curp Adriano covers Sebastian, Ronah de la Peña covers Dawak, and Lance Reblando serves as understudy for Kunyap.
Chesko Rodriguez will be the male swing for Frayle, Alcalde and Principalia, with Janji Gamboa serving as male ensemble swing and Joie Eborde as female ensemble swing.
The ‘Bar Boys’ creative trio reunites
The creative trio responsible for the award-winning Bar Boys: The Musical is reunited with Pat Valera, who writes the book and lyrics; Myke Salomon, who serves as composer and musical director in addition to playing Diego Silang; and Mikko Angeles, who directs.
The broader artistic team includes JM Cabling as movement director and Katte Sabate as dramaturg. Julio Garcia handles set and property design, while Bonsai Cielo serves as costume designer.
Lighting is designed by Meliton Roxas and Gabo Tolentino, with Arvy Dimaculangan as sound designer and Aina Ramolete as puppetry designer. D Cortezano serves as technical director, while Wika Nadera is art director and photographer.
Also joining the team are Hershee Tantiado as associate costume designer, Patrick Jusay as associate set designer and FOH designer, and Carlo Gianan as assistant director.
Gabriela Silang remains one of the most enduring figures of Philippine resistance. Following the death of her husband, Diego Silang, she continued the revolt against Spanish colonial rule in Ilocos before her execution in 1763.
GABRIELA: The Musical runs from November 13 to December 6, 2026, at Hyundai Hall, Areté in Quezon City.
Tickets for all performance dates are now available through Ticket2Me and Barefoot Theatre Collaborative’s authorized showbuyers.
