JUST JAVIER Brings an Inspiring True Story to Philippine Cinemas This August

MANILA, PHILIPPINES - Beginning August 12, Philippine audiences will have the opportunity to experience JUST JAVIER, a Spanish documentary that tells the remarkable true story of a young man who chose a life of faith over wealth, ambition, and social status.
Screening exclusively in select Ayala Malls Cinemas nationwide, the film marks its Philippine release after attracting audiences in Spain and several Spanish-speaking countries.
Directed by Josepmaria Anglès, JUST JAVIER follows the life of Javier Sartorius Milans del Bosch, a charismatic young Spaniard born into one of Spain's aristocratic families. With a successful future seemingly laid out before him, Javier excelled in sports, studied Business Administration in the United States, and built a promising career as a paddle tennis champion.

A chance encounter with the homeless community in Los Angeles became the turning point that transformed his life. What began as a personal search through meditation and self-reflection eventually led him to missionary work in Cusco, Peru, where he embraced a life centered on prayer, service, simplicity, and faith.

JUST JAVIER explores broader questions about purpose, sacrifice, and what it truly means to live authentically. Through Javier's story, the documentary reflects on the difficult choices that can redefine a person's life and the courage required to pursue a calling that defies expectations.
The film first premiered in Spain in September 2025, where it drew more than 23,000 moviegoers and extended its theatrical run beyond a month. Its strong reception led to screenings across nearly ten Spanish-speaking countries before making its way to Philippine cinemas.
