Mikkie Bradshaw-Volante Stars in The Play That Goes Wrong Manila
October 14, 2026

Filipino actress Mikkie Bradshaw-Volante is joining the chaos of The Play That Goes Wrong. GMG Productions has announced that she will play Sandra in the Manila premiere of the Olivier and Tony Award-winning comedy, running from November 6 to 22, 2026, at The Theatre at Solaire.
Bradshaw-Volante joins an international company of performers from Britain, Australia, New Zealand, and the United States. Her character, Sandra, is a member of the fictional Cornley Drama Society who plays Florence Colleymoore in its increasingly disastrous production of a 1920s murder mystery.
The comedy follows the society’s attempt to stage The Murder at Haversham Manor. What should be a straightforward opening night quickly unravels as sets collapse, props go missing, actors forget their lines, and cues are missed. The performers keep going, even as the production falls apart around them.
Joining Bradshaw-Volante are Tom Babbage as Chris, Owen Jenkins as Robert, Sebastiano Pitruzzello as Max, Liam Horrigan as Jonathan, Tom Hayward as Dennis, Olivia Charalambous as Annie, and Jake Curran as Trevor. Stuart Vincent, Tom Bulpett, and Stephanie Astrid complete the company as understudies.
Several cast members have previously performed in the show’s West End productions and UK, Australian, and New Zealand tours. The Manila production is directed by Hannah Sharkey, whose work with Mischief includes serving as resident director of The Play That Goes Wrong in the West End and directing its Portuguese and Mexican replica productions.
For GMG Productions CEO and founder Carlos Candal, Bradshaw-Volante’s casting reflects the company’s aim of bringing Filipino talent together with international performers. He also noted her involvement in GMG’s Filipino-led production of Come From Away.
Bradshaw-Volante’s theater credits span musicals and plays, including Fun Home, Kinky Boots, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Sweeney Todd, and Run for Your Wife. Her performance as Carrie Pipperidge in Repertory Philippines’ Carousel earned her a Gawad Buhay Award. More recent roles include the Baker’s Wife in Theatre Group Asia’s Into the Woods, Antonia in Repertory Philippines’ Man of La Mancha, and Raquel in Barefoot Theatre Collaborative’s Anthropology.
Created by Mischief’s Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields, The Play That Goes Wrong combines physical comedy with carefully choreographed theatrical mishaps. It won Best New Comedy at the 2014 WhatsOnStage Awards and the 2015 Olivier Awards, with its Broadway transfer also earning a Tony Award.
Presented by GMG Productions in arrangement with Mischief Worldwide Ltd., The Play That Goes Wrong will run from November 6 to 22, 2026, at The Theatre at Solaire, Solaire Resort Entertainment City in Parañaque.
