Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan Team Up for ‘Expectations’ Remix

Olivia Rodrigo is releasing a remix of “expectations” featuring Chappell Roan today, October 15, at 5 p.m. PST through Interscope Records. The release falls on October 16 for listeners in the Philippines.

The collaboration marks Roan’s first-ever featured appearance, according to the announcement. Daniel Nigro, a longtime collaborator of both artists, produced the track.

An official music video directed by Bardia Zeinali will premiere alongside the single, with Rodrigo and Roan both appearing onscreen.

The original “expectations” appears on Rodrigo’s third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. According to Interscope Records, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 485,000 first-week units, making it the biggest solo debut of 2026. It also topped the charts in 17 countries.

Collectors can preorder limited-edition 7-inch vinyl records, CDs, and cassettes of the remix through both artists’ official stores.

The release follows Roan’s appearance at Rodrigo’s inaugural women-led music festival, Daisy Chain Fields, held on August 29 at Great Park in Irvine, California. According to the announcement, the festival raised $20 million for 10 nonprofit organizations advocating for women and girls.

Roan will also host The Super Graphic Spectacular and The Super Graphic Block Party later this month. The two-day Los Angeles charity fundraiser will feature live entertainment, volunteer opportunities, and community activities. All net proceeds from ticket sales will benefit The Midwest Princess Project, which supports organizations providing resources for trans youth and LGBTQ+ communities.

Meanwhile, Rodrigo kicked off her sold-out The Unraveled Tour in September, with the announcement reporting more than one million tickets sold globally.
