‘Saglit Lang’ Returns for Limited August Rerun at Ateneo

‘Saglit Lang’ Returns to Ateneo for a Limited August Rerun

August 18, 2026

Infinite Cantina is bringing Saglit Lang back to the stage for a limited rerun this August at the Rizal Mini Theater in Ateneo de Manila University.

Written, produced, and performed by BJ Crisostomo, the original Filipino play returns for five performances from August 21 to 23, 2026, this time under the direction of internationally acclaimed playwright, director, filmmaker, and educator Dr. Anton Juan.

At the heart of Saglit Lang is a child trying to escape a violent reality. Seeking refuge inside an abandoned theater, the Child encounters a Maestro who introduces them to the world of performance.

What begins as a temporary escape gradually becomes a journey through theater itself.

Crisostomo portrays the Child alongside Rico del Rosario, while Ron Capinding returns to the production as the Maestro.

Juan is currently a Tenured Professor of Theatre at the University of Notre Dame in the United States and has been recognized by the French Republic as Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and Chevalier de l'Ordre National du Mérite.

The rerun is presented by Infinite Cantina in partnership with the Ateneo Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Ateneo Fine Arts Department, Teppanya Inc., the Kwan Laurel Fund for the Humanities, the Institute for Philippine Culture, Younifest, Act Avenue, and TIME Events.

Founded in 2024 by Jay Crisostomo IV, Infinite Cantina is a theater company focused on developing original Filipino stories while promoting what it describes as radical kindness and optimism.
