Sony Unveils RX10 V: AI Autofocus, 24-600mm Zoom, and 4K 120p Video

Sony Unveils RX10 V,
Its Most Advanced All-in-One Superzoom Camera Yet

July 16, 2026

The latest addition to Sony's RX10 series combines AI-powered autofocus, a 24-600mm ZEISS lens, and 4K 120p recording in a single camera built for travel, wildlife, sports, and everyday photography.

For photographers who want the flexibility of an interchangeable lens system without the hassle of carrying multiple lenses, Sony's newest camera may offer the best of both worlds.

Sony has officially introduced the RX10 V, the fifth-generation model in its RX10 series of all-in-one superzoom cameras. Designed for hobbyists, enthusiasts, and content creators alike, the RX10 V combines an expansive 24-600mm ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T lens*, AI-powered autofocus, and professional-grade video capabilities into a single compact body.

Building on the strengths that have made the RX10 series a favorite among travel, wildlife, and sports photographers, the latest model brings significant upgrades in autofocus performance, shooting speed, and creator-focused features.

One of the RX10 V's biggest highlights is its dedicated AI processing unit, which powers Sony's latest Real-time Recognition Autofocus system. The camera is capable of recognizing and tracking people, animals, birds, insects, vehicles, trains, and even airplanes. It can also automatically determine the subject type while continuously maintaining focus, even when faces are partially obscured by helmets or sunglasses or when subjects turn away from the camera.

The AI technology works alongside Sony's autofocus system to deliver blackout-free continuous shooting of up to 30 frames per second with full autofocus and auto exposure tracking. Whether capturing birds in flight, athletes in motion, or children running across the field, the RX10 V is designed to keep up with fast-moving subjects.

Versatility remains at the core of the RX10 lineup. The built-in 24-600mm F2.4-4.0 ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* lens offers a 25x optical zoom range that covers everything from sweeping landscapes to distant wildlife without requiring a lens change. The camera also supports close-up photography, allowing users to shoot macro images from approximately three centimeters at the wide end while still offering telephoto macro capabilities at full zoom.

Powering the camera is Sony's 20.1-megapixel 1.0-type stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor paired with the BIONZ XR image processor. Together, they deliver detailed images with reduced noise, natural color reproduction, and improved dynamic range, even when shooting indoors or in low-light conditions. Photographers can also take advantage of Sony's updated Creative Look presets and Dynamic Range Optimizer to customize the look of their images straight from the camera.

The RX10 V is equally capable as a filmmaking tool. It records 4K video at up to 120 frames per second, making slow-motion footage possible while maintaining impressive image quality. Sony has also included features found in its Alpha and Cinema Line cameras, including S-Cinetone for cinematic color, S-Log3 for greater flexibility in post-production, AI-powered Auto Framing, Active Mode image stabilization, and support for importing up to 16 custom LUTs.

Sony has also refined the overall shooting experience. The RX10 V now features a larger Quad-VGA OLED electronic viewfinder, a higher-resolution three-inch LCD monitor, and a control layout inspired by the company's Alpha mirrorless cameras, making operation more intuitive for existing Sony users.

Battery life also sees a welcome improvement. Using Sony's NP-FZ100 rechargeable battery, the RX10 V can capture up to approximately 630 still images on a single charge, representing more than a 50 percent increase compared to the previous generation. The camera also includes a dust- and moisture-resistant design, USB Type-C connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi, 4K live streaming support, and compatibility with Sony's Creators' App for wireless file transfers, remote camera control, and software updates.

The Sony RX10 V is now available in the Philippines with a suggested retail price of PHP 130,999. Customers who purchase the camera from July 10 to August 7, 2026 will receive a complimentary NP-FZ100 battery worth PHP 4,490 as part of Sony's launch promotion.
