Scene Change Returns with Ang Linangan, Directed by Guelan Varela-Luarca

February 25, 2026

After a successful first season with back-to-back sold out runs of Dagitab and 3 Upuan, Scene Change is back with a new play to be staged this March.

“Ang Linangan” is a quirky, touching play about love and family (and being in a cult), featuring Brian Sy and J-mee Katanyag.

Tyler has just left a cult in Italy. His elder sister, Sasha, is picking him up in the middle of nowhere. Sasha had to get up in the ungodly hours before dawn, leave her little daughter with her very busy husband, just so she could drive her weirdo brother — who’s just reappeared out of the blue — back home. They journey down a wintry New England road in more ways than one.

The play, whose original title in English is “The Farm”, is written by New York-based playwright Davis Alianiello, now translated to Filipino and directed by Guelan Varela-Luarca.

Joining Varela-Luarca are Monty Uy as Assistant Director, D Cortezano as Set and Lighting Designer, John Lucing as Choreographer, and Uriel Tibayan and Cholo Ledesma as Sound and Music Designers.

The show will be staged at the Joselito and Olivia Campos Interactive Room, 3/F Innovation Wing in Areté, Ateneo and will run from March 21 to 29, with matinee shows at 2PM and evening shows at 7:30PM.

Tickets are priced at PHP1,500 and are now available for purchase at bit.ly/SCAngLinangan2026 .
