Greek Tragedy Reimagined: Elecktra is Set To Return This July

July 4, 2025 - Coming this July due to popular demand is a provoking contemporary adaptation of this classic Sophocles tragedy.

 

This adaptation by Nelsito Gomez of Elecktra explores themes of family dysfunction and grief through the language of today. The story presents Elecktra grieving for the loss of her father who was murdered by her mother and her uncle. As she devises her plan for revenge, a key figure from her past comes back to her and her sister’s lives. 

 

This production will also be directed by Nelsito Gomez with production design by Sarah Facuri. It features a cast of both young talents and veteran actors, featuring Dippy Arceo as Elecktra, Issa Litton as Clytemnaestra, Dani Roque as Chrysothemis, Ysh Bautista as Orestes, and Tarek El Tayech as Aegisthus. It will run for two weekends at The Mirror Theatre Studio in Poblacion, Makati.

 

Tickets are now available for all shows of Elecktra on July 25 at 8pm, July 26 at 8pm, July 27 at 6pm, August 1 at 8pm, August 2 at 8pm, and August 3 at 3pm.
