Celebrate Poetry, Plays, Prose, and Filmmaking in this upcoming Literature Festival

October 15, 2025

Manila’s creative scene is about to sit down for another feast of words and artistry as SISID’s SALU-SALO 2: Literature Festival returns this October. Following its successful debut last year, this multi-day celebration of storytelling once again gathers poets, playwrights, fictionists, essayists, and filmmakers for three evenings of readings, screenings, and creative exchange.

A Three-Night Banquet of Stories

The second edition of SALU-SALO expands its reach with showcases across different venues in Quezon City—each night serving a different course of the literary arts:

October 18, 2025 (4–7PM)Playwriting Showcase at Magdamag Market Café, 14 Sgt. Esguerra, South Triangle

October 25, 2025 (5–8PM)Poetry and Prose Showcase at chapterhouse.ph, 32 Madasalin St., Sikatuna Village

October 26, 2025 (6–10PM)Filmmaking Showcase at Harong, 56 Mother Ignacia Ave., Diliman

Each gathering invites audiences to “handa na ang kubyertos sa iba’t ibang hapagkainan”—to share in an artistic salusalo of voices and visions through script readings, spoken-word performances, short film screenings, and intimate craft lectures.

The program will also feature performances by Francesca Dela Cruz and Leandro Reyes, bridging stage and page in one collaborative space.

Building Creative Communities

Founded in 2024 by producer-artist Gerald Manuel, SISID emerged as a collaboration group aimed at deepening public interest in art-making through open, accessible spaces for writers and performers. With previous projects such as Sketches & Ladders: Projects in Progress, Pira-Piraso: Workshop Series, and ESPASHOW: Open Mic Sessions, SISID continues to expand the horizons of creative exchange.

For this year’s SALU-SALO, the group partners with cognayan, Kislap Connect, and Primeluxe Travel and Tours, alongside venue partners Magdamag Market Café, Chapterhouse Creative Hub, and Human Rights and People Empowerment Center.

Special thanks go to media partners Together Manila, Yourtitaja, and Astrolikha Creative Spaces—all united in amplifying local artistry.
